The strongest developer credential at associate tier. That is unusually high for the tier, and it reflects a simple fact: AWS-fluent developers are the workhorses of cloud delivery.
Backend and full-stack developers working across Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway and the rest of the serverless stack. You find them at startups, consultancies and enterprise product teams alike.
AI coding assistants make individual developers more productive, but they haven't dented demand for people who understand the AWS platform beneath the generated code. If anything, that understanding matters more. Most holders go on to the DevOps Professional or the Data Engineer Associate.
The caveat is saturation. This is a high-volume cert, and its premium rests on AWS platform knowledge staying scarcer than general coding ability. The slow-burn threat is AI closing that gap.
