ISC2's management concentration layered on top of CISSP — a rare, senior credential. It's a rare credential: few holders, senior roles only.
CISOs, deputy CISOs and security program directors who set security strategy, run governance and incident programs, and own the budgets. They tend to be at large enterprises, government suppliers and financial services firms.
The case rests on seniority scarcity. Demand for security leadership is rising as regulatory pressure builds (NIS2, SEC disclosure rules) and AI-governance obligations land on security teams. It presumes CISSP underneath.
The caveat is thin evidence. A small holder pool makes this credential less comparable than its neighbours, and if ISC2's next workforce study reprices it, the rank moves.
