This is the clearest case of AI substitution on the index. UiPath has retired its legacy developer certs — UiRPA and UiARD expire in October 2026 — and repositioned around 'agentic automation', which is the vendor itself calling classic screen-scraping RPA superseded. The figure describes that old world.
RPA developers who build and maintain bot estates in UiPath, Automation Anywhere and Power Automate. They're concentrated in banking, insurance and shared-services operations.
Move on this one sooner rather than later. Existing bot estates guarantee maintenance work for years yet, but new-build demand is shifting to LLM-agent frameworks. The migration path is spelled out for you: UiPath's own Automation Developer and agentic track, or Power Platform.
The risk is the roadmap itself. When the vendor that certifies you retires your whole certification tier and rebrands the category, the erosion isn't a hypothetical — it has a date on it, and here that date is October 2026.
