VMware VCP-VCF Administrator (succeeds VCP-DCV)

This was the volume credential of the VMware world, and Broadcom pulled it from the catalog on December 15, 2025. Its successors are VCP-VCF (2V0-17.25) and VCP-VVF (2V0-16.25), and Broadcom's licensing strategy keeps shrinking the very ecosystem they certify.

Virtualization engineers running vSphere estates. For two decades they have been the operational backbone of on-prem enterprise IT; now they are managing estates their employers are actively reviewing.

Here the rating is the instruction. The install base secures years of maintenance work, but the direction of travel is set. Holders should stack toward the migration destinations — Nutanix, OpenShift or a hyperscaler credential — while VMware experience still carries transition value.

This risk has already arrived, and it compounds. Every Broadcom licensing announcement speeds up customer exits, and the credential is worth whatever the estate is. The transition window is the real asset, and it closes gradually, then all at once.
