Your interest in CDPSE – Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer is logged.
New to the index this quarter. It's privacy engineering, not privacy law — building the technical controls that the CIPP/CIPM layer only specifies. The AI Act's privacy-by-design obligations put this cert at the implementable end of the governance wave.
Mostly privacy engineers and architects — the people implementing data minimization, consent systems, anonymisation pipelines and privacy-preserving analytics. They tend to work at large tech firms, banks and health organizations.
The governance certs ranked above it write the requirements; someone technical still has to build what they specify. This one is scarcer than its legal-side siblings, and that scarcity holds the premium up. Most holders pair it with CIPP or a cloud security cert.
Two caveats, both about newness. The evidence is thin, as with any first-quarter entry. And the job title itself is still settling — if 'privacy engineer' folds back into general security engineering, a dedicated credential loses the niche it depends on.
